“SITUATION REPORT OF FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS OF PAKISTAN (2015)”
*This is bring in your kind notice that Monsoon Rains have started to fall and Chief Petrologist of Pakistan has predicted heavy rains and flash floods this year. On July 16, 2015, Chitral and adjacent areas were stricken by torrential rains that continued for about 4 days and caused heavy damages. More than 40 connecting bridges have been destroyed and several villages have been under water. In Gilgit Baltistan, the melting of the Glaciers at various points has added to the miseries of the victims. Land Sliding fled away about 110 houses, 10 Mosques and 6 Schools with it. Due to heavy rainfall on Kooh-e-Salman Mountains and washing away of flood bunds, More than 150 villages of District Rajanpur, Layyah Muzaffargarh have also been under water and crops on various acres has also been destroyed.
*Keeping in view the entire situation, AKFP Volunteers promptly reached the affected areas, launched the rescue operation in first phase, badly stranded people were evacuated from calamity stricken areas and transferred to safe places. However this process is still on going in Southern Punjab. Initially, AKF Local Teams delivered the people with relief items including Food Items and Relief Goods amounting about PKR 10,000,000. Provision of Medicines, Tents, Tarpaulin, Food Items & Blankets to the flood affectees is direly needed for their rehabilitation in the hour catastrophe. You are requested to extend your generous support for the flood stricken people of Pakistan as it is our social, religious and moral obligation.
